About us
Balkan Vocational Medical School was opened on July 10, 1954 on the territory of modern Turkmenbashi and is called Krasavodsk Medical College. Today the medical university has been renamed:
- 1964-1971. Krasavodsk Republican Medical College;
- 1971-1988; Krasavodsk Regional Medical College,
- 1988-1992 Krasavodsk Central Basic Medical College;
- 1992-2007 Balkan Medical College;
- 2007-2010; Turkmenbashi secondary medical school.
By the order of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov No. 1 PB-4973 of July 1, 2010, the Balkan Vocational Medical School is transferred to the 3rd building of the 147th complex of the city of Balkanabat. By order of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan dated August 30, 2010 No. 319, the school was renamed to Balkan Vocational Medical School.
In our country, on the basis of the creative initiatives of our national leader, within the framework of the implementation of the state program "Health", special attention is paid to improving the system of training medical workers as a prerequisite for bringing the country's healthcare system to the world level. In this regard, in our Balkan Vocational Medical School, a lot of work is being done to improve the quality of education. Large-scale work is being carried out to improve the quality of education, including the introduction of new technologies in curricula, the transition to digital education, the development of new teaching methods, and the modernization of textbooks. The training of paramedics, paramedics, nurses, family nurses, pharmacists, dentists, pregnant women, and health care nurses is the major task for our educational institution. Therefore, it is important that students internalize the lessons of the curriculum to prepare themselves to be future professionals. The scientific and encyclopedic work of the President of Turkmenistan "Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan" at a high level of mastering the curriculum deserves special attention. To date, twelve books of this scientific work have been published, which contain specific information about more than 1500 medicinal plants. This classic book has become a guide for all medical and pharmaceutical professionals, as well as students who will work in the health sector in the future.
